X2 User Guide:

Wireless Body Camera Activation

Connecting FOCUS X2 Body Cameras with FOCUS H1/H2 ICV

If the Wireless Body Camera Activation feature is enabled via the back office, when an officer logs into the FOCUS H1/H2 ICV (and optionally provides a Partner ID), the FOCUS H1/H2 ICV will automatically search for nearby FOCUS X2 Body Cameras associated with the same officer(s) using wireless Bluetooth communications. If found, those devices will automatically be associated to the FOCUS H1/H2 ICV for recording triggering purposes. The FOCUS X2 Body Camera will vibrate and show BT++ on the display when it automatically associates to the FOCUS H1/H2 ICV.

Triggering Recording with Wireless Body Camera Activation

To trigger recording with the Wireless Body Camera Activation feature, follow these steps:

  1. When devices are associated with each other via the Wireless Body Camera Activation feature, if any of the associated devices starts a recording, all of the associated devices (if within the Bluetooth signal range: approximately 50-200′ depending on situations) will be triggered and automatically start recording. Once the FOCUS X2 Body Camera begins recording, the Top LED 1 and the Front LED will flash red.
  2. Each device’s recording must be stopped independently when no longer needed. To stop the recording on the FOCUS X2 Body Camera, press and hold the REC button for 3 seconds. The Top LED 1 will turn green once the recording has stopped.
