SFPT0044: Adding or Removing Vehicles in Commander 5
Issue:
I have moved the camera systems from old vehicles to new vehicles and need to update them in vMax Commander 5
Description:
When the system is moved from old vehicles and they are no longer in use, old vehicle IDs will have to be deleted to clear their licenses so they can be used to add new vehicles in vMax Commander 5
Solution:
Deleting an existing vehicle ID from Commander 5
When logged into Commander 5, access Fleet Settings by clicking on its corresponding button in the vMax Commander main toolbar
Click on Vehicles tab to view list of vehicles added to the fleet
Click Delete (bin icon) in the Actions column to delete an existing vehicle from Commander 5
Adding a new vehicle ID to Commander 5
Whether you are physically moving the recorder/ DVR from an old vehicle to a new vehicle or setting up a new recorder for the very first time in Commander 5. Go to Fleet Settings > click on Vehicles tab
Click the Add button to add a new Vehicle to Commander
Enter Vehicle ID, select Vehicle Group and Vehicle Type from the drop down. (Example, Vehicle ID can be New Bus Number/Name)
Enter additional Vehicle Information in the provided text box if necessary
Once the Vehicle Configuration is finished, click Save
Under DVR tab, select DVR Type from the drop-down menu
Enter the Username and Password to all vMax Commander communicate with the DVR
Select Download Telemetry
Click on the Search button (magnifying glass icon) to add a new bus
Find the Vehicle ID (underlined) and confirm the DVR’s MAC Address in the list displayed in the new Detect Device window and click on it MAC Address can be found physically on the top of the recorder/ DVR or if you are connected to recorder/ DVR then under Configuration – Network option
This action will populate the DVR Local Connection fields on the Vehicle ID DVR window.
