Issue:
Advanced settings option not available on TL4 DVR running FW 1.0.0x to setup VMS settings
Description:
Needing to configure a TL4 DVR to communicate with Commander since the vehicle has already been added in Commander but not able to get the vehicle online in Commander. When attempting to access Advanced Settings within Network Settings on the DVR, there isn’t an Advanced option to select/navigate to
Solution:
Since the DVR is currently running a very old Firmware version of 1.0.0x, the DVR menu doesn’t have an Advanced menu within Network Settings so you have to update the Firmware to a newer version of at least 1.5.0 but recommend they update to the latest Firmware of 2.0.6. We also need to supply the customer the 1.5.1 Firmware version to update the DVR to first before updating to 2.0.6 if the current version is 1.5.0 or below.
To update Firmware you need insert thumb drive with Firmware on it into front USB port on DVR and go to configuration > system
Then go to program update > update and press yes when prompted to update DVR Firmware
Once Firmware is updated the DVR will reboot to complete the update and once you go into Network settings you should then see the option for Advanced Settings
