Configuring H1 Devices

Issue: H1 devices are not listed in Manage DVR

Cause: H1 devices that have erroneous configuration/H1 devices that were not pre-configured

Solution: Download a working H1 configuration from another H1 and install it to the malfunctioning DVR

Downloading a configuration from a working H1 DVR

1. Create an h1 directory under /root

      1.1 mkdir /root/h1config

2. SCP to the H1 DVR’s IP from the DES Server to download the config files(password: ubuntu)

     2.1 scp ubuntu@<h1_IP:~/h1_exe/config/* /root/h1config

3. There are 5 configuration files in the folder: events.config, lookup.config, template.config, units.config, users.config

4.  After downloading the files, edit the template.config and update the IP and DVR name

      4.1 vi /root/h1config/template.config

5. Use WinSCP or other tools to copy the config files to his computer

6. Ask the customer to plug-in the new H1’s storage device to his computer

7. Save the config files to /cobanvideo/bin folder of the storage device

8. Ask the customer to plug it back in to the new H1 and boot up the DVR

9. The new H1 should be pingable via the IP that you set(Step 4.) and should show up under Manage DVR with the DVR name that you set(Step 4.).
