Manually install new DVR/BWC Firmware

Issue: Customer needs a new Firmware version on the server.

Resolution:

Connect to a PC on the customer’s system.
Load up the DES/DEV interface as super user. Other users will not be able to preform this.

Transfer the new Firmware zip file from your PC or the Sharefile to the customer’s Desktop. Unzip the file. There should be four files inside, the .tar.gz file is the actual firmware.

In DES go to System Setup and the DVR Firmware tab.

Click the Choose File button at the bottom of the list.
Navigate to and select the firmware tar.gz file. Click Open.
Then click the Install button.

After a moment the page will refresh and the new firmware will be listed.
From that page you can assign the new firmware to all matching DVRs. You an also go to the Manage DVR page to assign it to a Group or to individual DVRs.
