SFWR0005 : Fleetlink Route System (RMS) – Scheduling Routes during Holidays

Description:- This document is intended to assist in how-to schedule/re-schedule the routes in the statutory holidays. It has a step by step guide for re-scheduling routes in Route management system insisting dispatches/Supervisors and preparing them for Holidays coming in advance.

Requirements:- RMS 3.x

Resolution:- For in-depth detail, we will go with a live example for the Christmas Eve holiday day: 25th December, Day – Tuesday.

The holiday routes can be re-schedule two ways, preventive and reactive, Fleetmind recommends preventive re-schedule to ensure the normal business workflow without any interruptions or delays.


Preventive re-schedule – Route frequency managed with a minimum of 24hrs in advance of the route day

Case 1 – All routes scheduled on a holiday are to be re-scheduled on a different day ( next day or weekend)

  • Reassign the day of the Frequency associated with these routes, this change will be applied to all routes that have the same frequency associated
  • Routes and Stops > Select Route name > Updated the route frequency > Save

Case 2 – Partial Routes scheduled on a holiday are to be re-scheduled on a different day ( next day or weekend)

  • Disclaimer:  Update the route frequency to another existing frequency assigned to the desired execution day
  • Routes and Stops > Select Route name > Updated the route frequency > Save

Case 3 – Partial Stops to be moved to new routes with a different frequency

  • Disclaimer: All routes transfers are just temporary (similar to on-demand calls) once executed will return to the original route
  • Routes and Stops > Select Route name > Add new stops > Select similar route name > Search > Select stops to be moved > Add selected stops (copy)

NOTE: all changes applied to route frequency must be reversed within 24 hrs of the modified route closing day

Reactive Schedule – Holiday already passed and all routes have been dispatched based on the reoccurring normal schedule but will need to be re-dispatched on more time on a different day

Case 1 – Use of Temp Truck functionality to re-dispatch the route on a different date

  • Disclaimer: All route will only be dispatched for the selected days and will return to the normal schedule once temp assignment schedule completed
  • Routes and Stops > Select route Name > Press on the Temp Truck (blue button) > select the same truck or different is required > select current date and next day if required > Save and Dispatch to dispatch the route now

Case 2 – Use of temp route and transfer all stops from the desired route the new temp route

  • Disclaimer: All temp routes will be removed from RMS once closed or next day-time occurred
  • Step1 – Create a new Temp route

  • Save temp route and dispatch (note don’t forget to add container information and material if needed)

Case 3 – Add stops from a past route to a current day Route – Extras

  • Similar to Step 2 video but select to edit a route from the current day route list and add stops for a route that has been dispatched already
