Adding Bookmarks to a Video

Evidence Manager allows you to insert notes that function as bookmarks for video files. Bookmarks provide better context of the video, and are also useful for finding specific sections in a video on another day.

NOTE: Supported Video Extensions

Bookmarks can be added to videos with the following extensions:

  • .video
  • .avs

At the moment, bookmarks cannot be added to MP4 files or .avr files.


To add a bookmark:

  1. Open a video file following instructions in Opening Videos.
  2. Click the bookmark icon.
  1. On the Bookmarks window, do the following:
    1. Bookmark Name: Enter a name for your bookmark.
    2. Bookmark Time: Select a time within the video for which you want to add a bookmark.
    3. Bookmark Notes: Enter in the notes specific to the video.
  1. Make changes to the bookmark:
    1. In the Bookmarks pane, right-click the bookmark that you want to change, and click Edit.
    2. On the Bookmarks window that appears, change either: Bookmark NameBookmark Time, or Bookmark Notes.
    3. Click OK.
  1. To print a bookmark, right-click the bookmark, and click Print.
  1. To play the video from the point of the bookmark, right-click the bookmark, and click Seek.
  1. To copy the bookmark contents to a clipboard, right-click the bookmark, and click Copy to Clipboard.
  1. To delete a bookmark, right-click the bookmark, and click Delete.

NOTE: Saving Bookmarks

At the time of closing Evidence Manager, a prompt appears directing you to save the bookmarks.
