Overview

The Metadata Player provides a summary of all events, alarms, and inputs recorded with the video. When you enable the metadata player, and select events, a graphical display appears. The graphic display is a quick way of knowing that a video contains events, without viewing it completely.

This display indicates that for the current video, Evidence Manager keeps track of the selected events. When these events occur, the entry against the events under the Metadata View pane changes from No to Yes.

NOTE: Metadata Settings

Metadata settings are applicable only for the video file you are currently working on. To enable the metadata player for another video, repeat the following procedure for that video.

TIP: Video File Extensions

The .video extension represents videos from MobileView recorders (or devices), while the .avr or .avs extension represents videos from Seon recorders (or devices).

Procedure for MobileView Videos

To use the metadata player:

  1. Log in to Evidence Manager.
  2. Open a video file from a Mobileview device following instructions in Opening Videos.
  3. Enable the Metadata Player, by clicking View > Metadata Player.
  4. Click View > Metadata Player Settings.
    OR
In the Metadata Player area below the timeline, right-click and select Metadata Player Settings.
  5. Select the inputs for a video from a MobileView device:
    1. On the Metadata Player Settings window, click the Device Input Settings tab.

NOTE: Event Inputs

These inputs are received from the devices. The digital inputs are custom, and are configured from the onscreen display of a device. The following analog inputs are available within the recorder: Latitude, Longitude, Direction, Speed, Acceleration X, Acceleration Y, and Acceleration Z. The additional two analog inputs are configured from the On-screen Display of the device.

    1. In the Show Graph column, select the check boxes coinciding with either digital inputs or analog inputs.
    2. If necessary, click the color box next to the event you selected, and set a color of your preference. The graphical representation within the Metadata Player, as well as the legend in the Metadata View pane will use this color to represent that event.
    3. Click the Integration Inputs Settings tab.

NOTE: Origin of Input Signals

These inputs originate from the device, or from third-party devices that are configured to work with the device (recorder).

    1. In the Show Graph column, select the check boxes that coincide with J1939 or integration inputs.
    2. If necessary, click the color box next to the event you selected, and set a color of your preference. The graphical representation within the Metadata Player, as well as the legend in the Metadata View pane will use this color to represent that event.
    3. Click OK.

Procedure for Seon Videos
