You can use the timeline and player controls to control the way your video is played. You can choose to view a video from a specific point on the timeline, use player controls, zoom in or out of a video, and so on.

Evidence Manager also supports miscellaneous controls that will allow you to perform tasks such as setting video properties,
adjusting camera tiles order, enabling audio, and so on.

The following images show where you can find the player controls, timeline controls, and other controls.

Player Controls

To use player controls:

  • Use the player controls to play or pause the video, fast-forward or rewind it, and so on.

Timeline Controls

To use timeline controls:

  1. Use the zoom controls to view the file:
    1. To zoom in a video, double-click the video tile.
    2. To zoom out, double-click the tile again.
  2. View the video between a time range:
    1. Hover the cursor over the timeline.
    2. When the red and green playheads appear, move the playheads to select a time range.
    3. Use the current live or playback cursor (blue triangle icon) to seek and play the video.
  3. To play back the video at a specific time, position your cursor at the desired time, and double-click the timeline.
  4. Use the center timeline icon to bring the playhead to the center for a video that is currently playing.
  5. Use the zoom-in and zoom-out icons to the right of the controls bar to zoom in or zoom out of the timeline.
  6. Search for a video using the calendar icon. For instructions, see Searching for a Video Using the Calendar.
  7. Add a bookmark. For instructions, see Adding a Bookmark.
  8. Take a snapshot. For instructions, see Saving a Snapshot.
  9. Save or export the file. For instructions, see Saving or Exporting a Video.

Layout and Other Controls

To use layout and other controls:

  1. Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, or hue:
    1. Click the Video Post Processing icon.
    2. On the Video Post Processing window, select the cameras that are currently live.
    3. Adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation or hue, by moving the respective sliders.
  2. To listen to audio, click the camera currently recording, and right-click Enable Audio.
    Click the sound icon in the top-right corner. Enable the audio, and if need be, adjust the volume of the cameras.
  3. To display multiple pages of camera tiles, use the left and right arrows of the Page menu.
  4. Select a camera tile layout:
    1. Click the drop-down arrow next to the layout icon.
    2. Select one of the 12 layouts. The camera tile layout in the video display area changes, and video starts playing in the active tiles.
  5. Change the camera tile position:
    1. Click the Camera Order icon.
    2. On the Adjust Camera Order window, use the up/down arrows to change the order of the cameras, and click OK.
    3. Click the Overlay checkbox to display the vehicle ID and time.
    4. Click the maximize/restore icon to hide the toolbar and the left pane.
  6. Set the video properties:
    1. To maintain aspect ratio, go to View > Preserve Video Aspect Ratio.
    2. To display time as the video plays, go to View > Display Video Time.
  7. View video information such as camera title, duration, device name, and stream state on the header and footer of the video tile.
  8. Click the Maximize/restore icon to hide the toolbar and the left pane.
  9. Click the Close All Tiles icon to close the video display area.
