Changing Hard Drive Properties

You can change the general properties of a hard drive from the Properties menu. The Properties option also displays the following properties that are not editable: connection details, capabilities, and camera details of a hard drive.

NOTE: Properties Window for Seon Devices

The Properties window for Seon hard drives does not have the Cameras tab. Step 8 is therefore, only applicable to MobileView devices.


To change the properties of a hard drive:

  1. Log in to Evidence Manager.
  2. Expand Docking Stations, find the device you want to configure, and make sure it is connected.
  3. Right-click this docking station, and click Properties. The Properties window appears.
  1. Under Connection, view properties such as Device Title, type of IP address, Device ID, and Device Port.
    You cannot change the connection properties from here.
    If you must change the properties of this hard drive, you must change the connection properties of the device to which it belongs using either: the device’s Properties menuthe device’s on-screen displaya configuration file, or the Import/Export feature.
  1. Under Details, do the following:
    1. Name: Enter a name of the person in charge of the maintenance.
    2. Phone: Enter a phone number for this person.
    3. StreetCityState/ProvinceZip/PostalCode, and Region/Country: Use these fields to enter an address for the person in charge of the device maintenance.
    4. Notes: Notes, if any.
  1. Under Capabilities, scroll up or down to view: Video ControlDevice ControlConnection Types, and Other capabilities
  1. (MobileView devices only) Under Cameras, view details such as: camera name, and mount type, and click OK.
