Overview

The HDD log is a log file of the hard drive of a device. It functions as a health report of the hard drive, and can be used to identify deviations from expected behavior. The log file also comes handy while discussing issues with the Seon Technical Support team.

A device log file contains a list of all activities, which are logged by a device. Log files are used to gauge device health, identify issues, and generally ensure that the device is functioning as expected.

To obtain the HDD log:

  1. Log in to Evidence Manager.
  2. Expand Devices under Device Manager, find the device of your choice, and make sure that it is connected.
  3. Right-click this device, and click Get HDD Log. The HDD log file is downloaded to your workstation.
